Tourism
in Tokuroland: Who is benefiting ? |
|
| |
|
|
| |
Certainly
the Tokurada people are not.
Travel agents post full pages of very expensive tourist accomodation
ads on daily papers. These ads are an
insult to poor Tokurolanders and they must be stopped.
They are waste of paper, too.
An average Tokuroda person can only spend one night with those
prices* if he spends his whole months income and he will still
have to pay for the flight and extras.
Tourism in this part of the world is also destroying the nature,
burning the forests and polluting the seas.
All the facilities on that coast should be demolished as soon
as possible and the ex-owners should pay for the damage.
This vandalism must come to an end and invaders should leave
the nature back to Tokuroda people.

Who
are Tokurada People and how and where do they spend their holidays? |
|
| |
|
|
| |
They
are the people who live in Tokuroland somewhere in the world.
They are under the influence of a dominant religion so their
daily attitudes reflect the restrictions, the somberness,
the aggresiveness, the thraldom of the religious lifestyle.
Togoland is a poor country. That's why the fundamentalist
government tolerates the presence of tourists visiting the
country. As they are believed to bring hard currency to the
bankrupt Tokuroland economy.Normally Tokurada people can not
afford the expensive facilities which cost 100 to 300 American
dollars per head one night They huddle in goverment forest
camps or makeshift camp sites where bathroom and accomodation
facilities could be terrible and fresh running water may not
be available. Mosquitos are everywhere and there is not any
medical assistance. Some civil servants used to go to factory
or company camp sites but as the goverment is selling these
companies and factories to the private sector I am afraid
employees won't be able to benefit from these facilities as
the wild capitalists who take over these places have no intention
to offer subsidized holiday packages to their employees. Instead
they utilize them for different profitable purposes. Few people
search for cheap hotels and bed&breakfast rooms in holiday
resorts. If lucky you can find a one-man-owned place like
this and for the 20-25 dollars you pay per head you may be
granted a (decent) breakfast. Don't forget single local males
are not allowed into premises.
The rest of the people and Tokurada expatriates spend their
vacancies in their hometowns where they do not pay for the
food
but often they have to give hand with agricultural work.

Is
there a Tourism Education in Tokuroland? |
|
| |
|
|
| |
To
an extent there is a training. But never satisfactory. Those
who are trained at schools have to work almost round the clock
and they are terribly exploited with the business owners. They
are normally friendly people but they are either exhausted or
very nervous. As their ruthless bosses keep on shouting at them. They
work under a serious pressure. |

Who
does a tourist mean for Tokurada people? |
|
| |
An
objective. Tourist guides collaborate with business owners.
They ignore the exaggerated prices. But as a guide it must be
their responsibility to tell their group about the real costs
and prices of the souvenirs and other merchandise.Instead they
get their share when a leather item or carpet is sold. That's
why the tourist guides keep real prices a secret. It is a hatred
job to be guide. |

Why
must a female tourist go to bed with Tokuroland men? |
|
| |
|
|
| |
Tokurada
men are ever horny men. They lead a life of sexual deprivation
as Tokurada girls are likely to keep their virginity to their
legal husbands. Tokuroland marriages are made to create families
and produce as many children as possible. Usually there is no
human communication between a husband and a wife. Husbands hit
and beat and yell at their wives. A maximum of a dozen words
are uttered within the family in a day. Consequently the husband
is interested in all other women but his wife. As a lonely tourist
you are one of those target women. Tokuroda men are desparately
looking for different women all the time. But unfortunately
Turgoda men look very different from Italian men in appearance.
Anyway lots of chubby and homely hot Brit chicks ignore this
fact and go to bed with Tokurada villagers being his first or
second women in his entire life, once both parties are tanked
up they do not need to communicate in any language ; as body
language is Ok at this time of the night. Now it is time to
make up for the lost months for her or years for him. |

 |
Who
are in this business? |
|
| |
|
|
| |
There
is a turmoil as everything else. Basicly ex-villagers who
move to tourist cities. Tokurada agriculture is in crisis
so they leave their villages and move to urban areas.During
the last decade all big cities have been inflated and polluted
with village lifestyle and way of thinking. They have no sense
of humour and they can even kill you at the end of a small
dispute. They are very dangerous people. But they are very
good at short selling or quoting double or triple prices.
For example they love to be parking attendants. You can see
parking attendants everywhere. They charge parking fees in
city streets, mountain tops, ferry queues, enterance of historical
ruins. Most police officers keep one or two relatives from
their villages as so-called parking attendants in their areas
where they have authority. They split the revenue in the evening.
Even
local citizens who refuse to pay parking fees for illegal
and makeshift car parks are beaten to death and their cars
are badly destroyed.
Some
of them sell refreshments awkwardly dressed in local costumes.
You should be an idiot to buy drinks from these cunning bastards
with that unhealthy gear. Once you have drunk that liquid
you will have to pay 20 dollars for each glass. Ignore shoe
shine boys or postcard, guide book, etc.sellers.
They stab
knives to objecting customers.
Mass
tourism is totally a different business. It involves enormous
amounts of consumption.During the tourist season all the prices
go up so local people suffer .It was the idea of a hatred
Tokurada politics man who was a puppet of capitalists and
internatioanal business. As local investors do not have enough
money to build such huge facilities they go into joint ventures
with foreign capital. There is an ambivalence at this point
as a foreigner invests in a business how can you expect him
to bring hard currency to the country. Normally he will take
it back to his own country. But nobody tells the truth to
Tokuroda people. Mass tourism is a disguise to plunder the
puplic property and nature which is a paradise when left as
it is. .Millions of acres of land are allocated to these foreign
investors and their local collaborators almost free. Unfortunately
these are the best places of nature and beach where actually
Tokurada people should enjoy themselves and should benefit.
But practically they are forbidden cities for Tokuroland workers,
students, teachers, housewifes as they are invaded by tourist
businesses who accomodate foreigners as low as 10 Euros a
room per night. Well to tell the truth Tokuraland people are
allowed to the premises but as a waiter, toilet cleaner, gardener,
kitchen crew and electricians. Their wages won't exceed 200
euros per month. |

Who
tends to visit Tokuraland? |
|
| |
|
|
| |
Older
people and stupid tourists. They make an ideal target market
for ever hungry shopkeepers. Intelligent tourists refrain
from this country as it is country of unexpected. You may
get into trouble any time with the police. Hardly any officer
speaks English they will not listen to you anyway even if
they do.You can not see young people as you used to see before
the military regime. Young people know how things work out
and the restrictions on democracy and civil life.On the other
hand fewer and fewer well off tourists are visiting the country
lately as they do not feel secure because of blasting bombs
and shark taxi drivers and bag snatchers.
Tokuraland can be regarded as a starter before Iran or Afghanistan
for adventure seekers.
Most
poor tourists populate all you can eat and drink facilities.
They are relatively safe. There are double perimeter fences
around the camp and local Tokurada people are not allowed
in. The patrons who are interested in seeing ruins are transported
by the company buses to the nearest cities . Nudity may be
a challange at this point. You will find dozens of men staring
and laughing at you even if you are a conservatively dressed
lady. The guide keeps on warning the tourists against the
aggressive shopkeepers on their way to the cities or open
air museums. As sexual harassment is a lifestyle in this culture.

Why
are tourism businesses malicious towards tourists? |
|
| |
|
|
| |
Tourism
is a service sector. 99% of the people who are in tourism business
in Tokuroland have no idea of hygiene, human relations, healthy
cooking, etc. The cities, roads and seas should be clean.or
markets, the shops should be tidy and well-organized.In Togoland
heaps of garbage are everywhere. The traffic is a mess.In Tokuroland
most facilities at tourist attractions dump their sewage into
the sea. You unknowingly swim in contaminated water and develope
diarrhea next day you arrive Tokuroland. |

|
|
 |
What
did the government do so far to improve shopkeepers adverse
attitude towards visitors? |
|
| |
|
|
| |
Nothing.
Shopkeepers are basicly fundamentalists. So they hate the
other religions. They do not speak foreign languages. They
are usually too dumb to learn one. They hire people as assistants.
They hate improperly ? dressed foreign women -i.e you as a
tourist -as they are afraid of them setting a bad example
for their conservative family dicipline.
Not
only the shopkeepers but also the police has a hostile attitude
towards foreigners. As it is a country of unexpected you may
be deep in trouble all of a sudden. As a tourist you are a
prospective criminal.
Most
people in Tokuroland are extremely chauvinist. As Tokuroland
is an isolated country from the rest of the world they have
no intention to make friends with Europeans. With one exception
money. They try to look as friendly as possible to relieve
you of some of your extra euros. |
|
| |
|
|
| |
|
|
 |
Why
do Tourism sharks never give up cheating tourists? |
|
| |
|
|
| |
They
can not survive otherwise. They lack the basic skills to do
other trades and there is a serious unemployment within the
country. That's why you meet so many similar shops in Tokuroland
compared to other tourism countries. Hundreds of textile shops, dozens
of jewellers, thousands of street traders .Most landlords are
unable to find customers to their bad and remote hotels so they
are very tense and nervous anytime. Sometimes local mafia runs
the touristic hotels as a disguise for their various illegal
activities. Normally local officers collaborate with them. In
time they have learnt the benefits of getting on well with rich
mafia bosses. So do not expect much even if you go to local
police station and make a legal complaint about the landlord.
Instead ask the price of every single good or service before
you buy it and note it. All of a sudden you may be ripped off. |
